ABSTRACT CITY : Nicky Ebbage

Nicky Ebbage (they/them) is a freelance photographer based in Bristol, UK, whose work covers social issues and contemporary culture. Nicky is connected to LAND Gallery via Jane Haslam – the gallery owner and also Nicky’s (very proud!) mother. 

This new exhibition Abstract City, features land and city-scapes taken around their home city, Bristol, over the past year. In these images they use minimalism and abstraction to distort the familiar, creating a patchwork story of a city which feels recognisable, yet at the same time alien. 

LAND is also pleased to featured a small selection of work from their current project Bristol Trans Portraits – a transgender visibility project which aims to give a platform to real trans lives, and demonstrate that trans people are not really all that different from the rest of you!
